I do see what you mean if it is on continuously the dog can soon forget it's on and then can behave regardless. Ok, so the dog never wears a buckle collar once more? This is what irks me. I wish to be able to manage the dog regardless of what collar is on not just the pinch or it may be no collar in the slightest degree and therefore the canine still behaves. What if the owner for a few reason takes to the air the collar then they put the buckle collar on for ID but then forget the pinch collar? Then there's no control.
[Adam Replies] WRONG! The canine gets conditioned. Come out the collar for awhile. Does not matter.
Do you ever within the training return to the buckle collar when months of what you advocate with a canine that's happy with doing the commands?
[Adam Replies] Yes, the canine will the command as a result of he is happy and he likes it. But eventually, there will be something that tempts him. This can be where conditioning comes in.
Think of it like this: You've got lived in the same house for ten years, right? You arise in the middle of the night and you reach for the sunshine switch that's to the LEFT of the door. Pretty soon, you get conditioned to achieve out to the LEFT of the door.
In some unspecified time in the future you travel and keep in a hotel. You get up in the middle of the night and reach out to the LEFT of the door for the switch... although you cognitively saw {that the} switch is on the RIGHT.
In fact, you'll awaken for several nights-- maybe even weeks or months-- and still reach out to the LEFT, while the switch is currently on the right. Some individuals will continue getting to the LEFT for the remainder of their lives. Some will begin reaching to the right.
Those folks want to be reinforced. Get it?
Motivational corrections if on the correct dog will not frighten them or build them hate you I understand but aren't there different ways except using the collar that can eventually be established thought coaching that can permit you to take the collar off and have management?
[Adam Replies] Yeah, this way you'll be able to take the collar off and have control, ONCE THE DOG IS CONDITIONED. But eventually you'll have to travel back and reinforce, for many dogs. And definitely if you start expecting to work the canine around new distractions that it's never been proofed around, like chickens if the dog has never seen chickens.
Look, I do not make the rules. The dog is not a robot that you can suddenly say, "He is done" and expect him to act consistently for the remainder of his life. Like any relationship you have with another person, boundaries would like to be established and maintained. The dog is like your wife or husband... they can eventually take a look at you. 
Last query, how can the canine not realize the don't have it on since it feels a ton totally different than the buckle? Its like my id around my neck at faculty I've got gotten used to it but I do notice when it is off? Simply for the record I've got no downside with pinches, many members in my four-H club use them and that they work great on the proper canine.
[Adam Replies] Because the method you must be using the pinch collar is {that the} canine (since he has limited reason and logic) will not KNOW that it is the pinch collar that enables you to grant him good corrections. But it's a lot of than the pinch collar. If I place the dog in a very number of small yards, with no collar on ... and I am in a position to chase him down and make him come back to me, if he doesn't come back when I call... then the dog can learn THE UNDERLYING PREMISE that I can make him do it, if he doesn't. Therefore, the pinch collar and therefore the long line make my job easier, however ultimately, the canine is aware of (or he thinks a minimum of) that I'm a person of my word and after I tell him to try and do one thing: If he does not do it, I'm going to make him do it. And his life can be a heap additional fun if he will it willingly. Therefore the dog starts to extrapolate this principle to different commands, too.
